Hi all.
Im new here. I was referred by Tom from Gun-Talk.

My quandry is... I recently bought a pair of Llamas. A 380, and a 9mm Parabellum. I figured to get them, and then turn them quickly. But I cant find any info on them. Ive dug as far as I know how to dig, and I cant find them. They dont have a model name or number on the slide. They have a s/n on the trigger guard, but no way to identify the model and when it was made. Its almost like Llama didnt make them. I dont think they are military. They dont have the finger grip trigger guard and both sights are fixed. They both have grip safetys.
Like I said, Ive checked out a few Llama, and Star sights but I cant find these guns. Is there another place to look for a possible model name or number???
This is driving me kind of nuts.
Id appreciate any help or direction you can give me.
Thanks

m about 60 miles SW of Daleyville. Sandwich IL.

Yup, I do know where Sandwich is, vaguely. Somewhere between Rockford and Dekalb, IRRC. I might even be going there tomorrow, if the "boys" in the other shop can't figure out how to get their app to talk to a mail server.

Where'd ya get the Llamas?

Using an on line auction can help find info in this type of case. Try auctionarms.com or gunbroker.com. Put in Llama and the caliber and do a search. If you choose "closed auctions in last 90 days" you will get additional information then just guns currently for sale. By sorting thru the auction pictures you stand a good chance of finding the model you have with a description and an idea of what they are selling on the market.

Does the Llama .380 look like a small 1911 and have a vent rib on it?

I had one in the 70's, it was an OK shooter but I never did figure out what model it was (back in the "BI" days "Before Internet").

I think my 9mm is a model XI-B. But Im only about 75% on that. I still havent found out the 380.

In case your Llama is the XI-B, it replaced the XI "Especial" model with a design similar to the Colt 1911.
Here are some of the spec's:
Cal: 9mm
#of shots: 8
Length: 7.8"
Weight: 30 oz's
Height: 5 1/2 "
Sights: Adj. for Windage
Finish: Bright Blue or Chromed

BTW, if you can find the Letter Code located on or near the slide or trigger Guard, I can give you the mfgr date on the 9mm or your .380...(I need more info. on your .380)
E.g.: (Q1 = 1970)
Hope this helps...I've had a few Llamas.....:)

I was looking at them this morning. I found a 1.2 on the 9mm. And a 11.2 on the 380. The 380 might be double stamped on the 1.
The 380 has an X and the 9mm has a B infront of the s/n. Does that help.

Systema1927... Thats my 380 I think. It looks exactly like mine. I wish the ad told more. Bummer. The 9mm is a twin to it, only a full size.

I have a Llama .380. The cheap plastics grips are cracked and I broke the ejector. I had to make another one for it. I would sell it if it was worth anything. I would give it to a needy newbie who just wanted to shoot.:)

It's a model III-A, Blue, looks like the pic in the link above.
