I'll let you know ;)
Sorry if this has been mentioned already but last night on Mythbusters they took a look at a myth originating from the civil war where two mini balls fused in mid air. They tested this in a container in the parking lot. My question is can they do that? I know that yes they can because they did but what is the law out in California about makeshift gun ranges.

you're right, they never touch on that.

here's my guess: jamie is a very responsible person and he does not want to lose his business. same goes for the producers who do not want to loes their show or get sued.

surely both him and the producers of the show are doing the right thing and clearing things with the city and local PD. after all, whatever they do is shown on TV and I highly doubt they are dumb enough to commit a misdemeanor or a felony and then broadcast it on TV :)

there is a LOT of work that goes into the show, both preparation and intermediate steps, that we, the viewers, never get to see. they just cut the best parts together so they can cram it all into one show. talking about the legal aspects and preparation for the show is probably not at the top of their list of things to show.
