This is a BP mag 5 shot revolver and the part that keeps the cyl from turning is not disengaging. It will off and on but mostly off. With the cyl out I can watch it when working the hammer and it mostly is not dropping but as stated before sometimes it does. Gun has only had 30 rounds thru it. Any ideas on how to fix this? TIA

Yeah, I know but now it is loaded and I don't know how to get the bullet and powder charge out of it. Any ideas? TIA

My Black Widow exhibited this problem. I discovered that, when changing grips, I had "bumped" the leg of the spring that tensions the cylinder bolt. I moved it back and the problem vanished.

Failing that, I'd try going to the range, then removing the cylinder;replace with the bolt between the bolt notches. You should now be able to cock & fire the revolver. With luck, it'll function for follow-up shots. If not, repeat remove/replace/cock/fire sequence till all chambers are discharged.
