NAA Mini Rev

I carry a Black Widow in .17HMR. 20 feet I can put 5 in the head off hand as fast as I can with my S&W m38. At 1500 fps, that's gotta sting. Carry it as a second gun or when I'm in shorts or sweatpants. Also carry around the home, mowing the yard, cutting fire wood, gardening, etc. So light and small you don't even know it's there.

If I were to carry my mini 22mag about the house and property, I think having the first cylinder loading with birdshot/snakeshot is one fine idea.

Even with a larger pistol, hitting a snake is tough what with the adrenalin factor. I used to work near Lake Livingston in Texas and snakeshot (in a 38) was very effective. Pretty soon, whenever I stepped out of the construction trailer I could hear the water mocassins (sp?) headed into the underbrush.

But .17HMR, do they even make snakeshot for that?

NAA Satisfies

:) After going 2 1/2 weeks without my Black Widow, it finally came back from NAA fully functional, fully repaired and with a pair of matching fluted magnum and LR. cylinders and after a couple test sessions at the range Ihave to say that I am fully satisfied.I was able to speak with Wayne, the factory technician about the problem I encountered and he gave me the option of fluted or non -fluted cylinders .I liked the look of the fluted Black Widow so I accepted his offer.
I think GaryP was right about fitting each cylinder to each frame. Iwonder what made them send me a random magnum cylinder in the first place knowing that it would need to be fitted to work properly.NAA gets an A+ for their awesome customer service Do they sell stock?

mguffey- Shot, especially from an extremely short barrel, penitrates extremely shallow, if it even passes through the skin. It may stop some, but it isnt enough for most. I would go for a solid.

As for .17HMR, is it next to useless IMO for self defense. If I was limited to it, I would use the 20 grain XTPs.

For the mini revolvers, the .22 magnum with FMJ bullets is probably the best option.

Good. I saw this thread resurface and hoped you'd come back to give us a status report.

Glad my faith in NAA's service wasn't misplaced. :)
