I've got a Nambu Type 14, Showa 11.3, which has mahogany grips. There are no apparent defects in them but I would like to know if the grips need any special care or polishing.
Don't do anything like polishing it as it will reduce the value. I'd just dust it and use some high quality wax on it but otherwise leave them alone. Try not to let oil from the gun leech into the wood.
