How is it that after he shot the first kneeling student, the rest did not rush him?

If this had happened in the 60s or 50s or even in the 70s those generations would have fought back. Too many children are being taught{at government schools} to give in to criminals. If you do as they say, everything will be allright. Look at September 11th. Look at other mass shootings.

In elementary school if someone hits you dont fight back ,run and tell.
Parents are worried about legal ramifications if they teach their kids to fight back.{ They were "educated" in the same system}

This was one person armed with handguns. Handguns. Everyone of his victims were conditioned to meekly kneel and accept their execution.

Unless parents out there take action, and take over the education of their children and remove them from the state systems, we will continue to be a Nation of Victims.

I am not sure that it is possible to turn things around at this point. Society's attitudes towards personal self defence have now become so convoluted that that I fear that it might already be too late. This most recent incident might be an indicator that the anti's and the degenerate filth who condemn CCW may have already won ...

Is that report confirmed?

Anyhow.. the lining up peacefully to be killed isn't a new phenomenon - it happened way too much in the '40's, even to a group of US servicemen as I recall.

It's unacceptable, sure... but it happens, and not just in modern times. :(

I do believe that the Marines greatly outnumbered the Japanese during the Bataan death march. Why don't you go spit on their graves too and say how much better your generation is than theirs.

Hoji, you are so dead on right! I mean, what the hell?! I have been in a couple of situations over my 60 years and when it does hit the fan..pile on!

Look at Flight 93..it took them a while, but they saved a Washington target, I have no doubt!

This society Has changed for the worse in that regard. He might get 1 or 2 of us, but then the rest would rip him apart.

I think those two kids that laid on there backs and held the door closed with there feet, with bullets flying through the door over there heads showed tremendous courage.

a bully was picking on my 9 yr old son and he ran to tell a teacher. I told him next time fight back. his reply shocked me, the school teaches them to not strike back:eek: am I that old? when I was a kid(can't remember) we were taught by our fathers to fight for ourselves OR a lady in distress. what happened to us?

My kids are taught to fight back. My son, my scouts, my church youth group.

Self defense is not a right. It's an obligation. To not resist something is to encourage it at. If someone attacks me, a 35 year old male in excellant health, and good shape with martial arts training, military background and a .45 on my hip, what are they going to do to an infant, a disabled, or an elderly victim?

Yesterday, a guy in usenet told me that it was better for those 30+ people to be murdered than for one of them to shoot the murderer, because if the students armed themselves, they'd be as bad as he was...

That's the generally accepted attitude, yes.

Not sure who is teaching that crap to our kids but it's the "party line".

hoji, i'm glad you posted that. i have been envisioning that scene in my mind, and it frustrates me so. most of the other students at the school were told to cower behind locked doors, and they did so. what is happening in this country????? why was the whole student body not out of their rooms and classes, fueled by righteous anger, hunting for this monster?

last week my wife's best friend told her we can't have capital punishment because we would be as bad as the murderers being fried. wait just one moment, is there no difference between the BG killing innocent victims for his own gains, versus the collected group of citizens determining that the BG can not be permitted to live:confused: // my wife struggled using logic to explain the difference to her best friend. to no good end, they hung up angry. liberalism is a disease that consumes nations and makes us easy to kill

agree..those two are genuine heros. Have we (as a nation) become a herd of sheep..bystanders..followers? There are times I really wonder why people take the crap that's pored on them. From unethical businesses like Enron to bullys who push people around.

I wonder if that guy would feel the same way if he were groveling at the feet of a goon about to murder him.

By then, an "I told you so" would be a bit late, and not really that satisfying...

+1

my 5 year old takes martial arts and will spend range time with me when he is a little older.

If anybody thinks they will go to heaven because they are a better person than anybody else they may have a suprise that isn';t good.

Isn't it time people realize capitulation is NEVER the correct choice in a situation of life or death.

If a monster carries a gun it is about time that good people do to.
24 hours a day if that is what it takes to break this cycle of mass murder of the innocent.

You don't battle a monster with kindness, you battle a monster with a sword.

This is the meat of moral relativism, a strange and suicidal disease that affects Western Civilization. We desperately need to develop a vaccine.

Actually, we have one: The Bible. I don't know the Christian Bible or associated writings, but the Talmud states that "kindness to the cruel is cruelty to the kind." IOW, if you let the bad guys do whatever they want, if you fail to resist them, then they will victimize those who are wholly innocent (likely starting with yourself and anyone with you).

People who preach non-violent resistance to depraved killers are sick. Michael Savage is correct - Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Actually, we have one: The Bible.

The Bible teaches "turn the other cheek" and "love the sinner but hate the sin".

Hávamál 38.
Let a man never stir on his road a step
without his weapons of war;
for unsure is the knowing when
need shall arise
of a spear on the way without.

The Norse had it right...

I've spent a LOT of time in usenet, and in FidoNet before that. This seems almost like an S&M thing with these people. They appear to have a quasi-erotic sort of attraction to the oppression at least of others. The idea of somebody EFFECTIVELY resisting seems to enrage them. The victim's groveling or ineffective resistance seems to excite them.

another hero

This story describes the actions of a 77 yr old professor, Liviu Librescu, that I would also consider heroic; not unlike falling on a grenade. Not mentioned in this article, but on some news reports, this man was also a holocost suvior.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime_file/2007/04/17/2007-04-17_courageous_final_act_of_professor.html

Apparently he was shot through the door while holding it shut against the gunman while his students were escaping through the windows. I hope that as time goes on more stories of courage emerge and those people are honored appropriately. I would like to believe that this nation is not full of sheeple bystanders.

I tried to hang around usenet. Couldn't do it as my patience for inanity is non-existent.

You must have the patience of Job to deal with that
Nah, I just hate liars and morons and enjoy inflicting the maximum cruelty upon them. ;)

You can't just pick and choose the Biblical quotes that fit your argument.
OK, I will do the same.

"If the thief is found breaking in, and he is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt for his bloodshed. If the sun has risen on him, there shall be guilt for his bloodshed. He should make full restitution; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft."

"...But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a sack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one"

"A righteous man who falters before the wicked is like a murky spring and a polluted well."

Not fighting back would certainly be faltering before the wicked eh?

The "turn the other cheek" business is regarding vengeance, not self defense.

You can spin any religious text to say anything you want, as we can clearly see throughout history.

The schools here are a major part of the problem. A class bully hit my son, who then pushed him away. The bully then tried to choke him, and my son broke loose. When the bully came at him a third time, my son gave him a split lip which required stitches.

The school officials agreed that this was exactly how the situation happened, but both students were suspended for 3 days.

My son and I went hunting and fishing!
