The Federal Government could fund crime.
Now the would be thief knows he can get Federal Money for his stolen gun, and probably exactly how much. Crime subsidies? I wonder if it will come with immunity like Chicago does?(Good way to recover murder weapons-you just can't use it to prosecute the criminal!)
Although, I read a post of an individual in a state pro-gun organization that took guns to a Chicago "buy back" and netted a few thousand dollars to donate to the organization. He reportedly took up a collection of old inoperable and non-repairable weapons from members of the group and drove to Chicagao. He then turned them in at several different collection locations.
It is a lose-lose situation. We fund the program, some idiot gets paid six figures to manage it, the criminal gets top dollar for a piece of junk, or low dollar for our guns that are stolen, and the law abiding hard working tax payer funds it!!
We all know how good of a job the government does managing money.

I'm waiting for a "car buy back" program. Just think about all the crimes commited with cars by toubled youths, drive by shootings, hit and runs, DUI, speeding, double parking...

Everybody pays for this...except those of us who have been waiting for such an opportunities to unload junkers...we break even.
