I have an idea, that could be VERY useful. It would infuriate the lefties, help the industry, and show the lefties we are not gonna sit down and take it.

I propose we setup a date each year(adjusted to allow for closures such as Sundays and such), that everyone goes out and buys a gun, at a gun shop or anyplace an NICS check is done, as we all know they watch those stats. It doesn't matter how expensive or inexpensive the gun is, just the purchase of a gun is enough.

I would also propose, that this be at a time when everyone will have their tax returns such as mid to late February or something. Remember the American Handgunner Campaign, buy a gun for America? It worked. Like the politician said, one of the best things you can do to show them you mean business, is to buy a gun. I recommend just one purchase on that day though(don't want to give them any excuses for bringing up the one gun a month thing).

What are others thoughts on this?

except that a lot of us can't afford or don't need to buy a gun each year. how's about we make it national buy a box of shells day? :D

I know the thing about not being able to afford, I am in that boat myself, which is why I proposed around tax time. You can buy a decent brand new firearm(or used firearm) at an FFL for well under 200 bucks. I can't even afford to go to the junkyard to spend 15 bucks on a new EGR tube for my truck, which would restore my gas mileage, make my truck run better, be less noisy, and would help keep the truck from breaking down. 15 bucks. Come tax time however, I can afford to buy an inexpensive firearm and i plan on doing so. Besides, nobody said it had to be a handgun, alot of places you can get a nice .22 rifle for under a hundred bucks, check out the Marlin model 60, brand new all day long under 100 bucks, dead reliable too. Nice fun firearms. I know, that was my very first firearm. I bought it shortly after I turned 18.Had it for years, until the combination of needing money, and not being able to go shoot it, led me to sell it.

P.S.
The thing about not everyone needs to get one every year, if possible you need to. It helps send a message, and therefore helps us to keep our rights from being stripped. Shows we're serious. The more guns we have the harder it is for them to take them all away. I realize not everyone is going to be able to, but everyone who can, should. Make a day of it. Make it more then just a THR thing, spread the word to all law abiding gun owners you know. Even if 1/8th of law abiding gun owners int he United States were to go buy a firearm on the same day, thats ALOT of guns. Plus it helps the industry recover from all those frivolous lawsuits the lefties were bringing. Instead of pissing and moaning about the lefties being in office, we're gonna have to fight 10 times harder, and we are going to need every advantage we can get(don't get me wrong not saying the rights did alot of good for us but the lefties sure as hell are going to go against us).

We already have National Ammo day/week. Buy at least 100 rounds to show the antis that we are still here. Nov 19 was the day this year.

That oughta do it.

During NAD/W this year I personally purchased 1974 rounds of ammo.

Some of us are hard up.

Good Idea but somebody already thunk of it.

Only problem I see with MArch 30th is, some people(me for one hehehe) might have already spent their taxes. Some people though won't get their taxes until March. Could change it to gun buying month? With starting this on THR, THR is more public, easier to find, and isn't likely to disappear anytime soon without reason. Like I said though, make it go beyond THR. Maybe we can get NRA to run a few ads here and there on radio and TV(hahaha yeah right), saying that X month is national buy a gun month or something, to buy a gun for America. Toss up a billboard or two. If you own your own home along the freeway you can put up the billboard yourself. Or some other type of large advert like that(not sure about other states but in Oregon you can do that, as long as it's not vulgar). Surefire way to spread the message, and all it takes is one person to tell the news media and they will be all over it, bingo, more exposure. Publicity can be a WONDERFUL thing, even if it is played out by the anti's to be a bunch of murderous gun nuts.

Yeah, the NRA.

That would be good.

They're real interested in fostering an interest in the public buying guns.

Yeah, real interested.

Buy, buy, buy.

Good for business.

Buy.

No pistol grips, lotsa shotguns, 9 round mags, shoot them ducks.

Yeah, buy, buy.

Only problem I see with March 30th is, some people(me for one hehehe) might have already spent their taxes.

Taxes? Pffft. March 30th is a little more than a random date. There is a strong incendiary reasoning behind selecting that date.

Google "March 30" with "Gun Control".

I am sorry, but I will say it again. There is no better day to buy a gun than March 30th.

I'm in!

I've been eyeing a couple of the cheaper derringers for $130. Take the wifey in with me, and buy one for each of us.

Bought a bunch of ammo a couple weeks ago :)p ), might as well get another gun to shoot the same caliber AND make another point!
