National Ordnance 1903a3

Personally, after having owned a Fed Ord M14S, I'd say that is $376 dollars too much, but at least they used GI surplus parts on the 1903s and not Chinese parts like on the M14S. So, find out how much you can buy a GI receiver for and then subtract that from $375.

I know I'm not really answering your question, but maybe I'm answering it too well.

With the price of the parts now that might not be a bad deal if you have a receiver to put them on. There seems to have been some problems with the National Ord rec breaking up. If you look on ebay the cost of a good stock is more than 1/3 of the asking price. Barrels are going for 150-200. Personally I would try and get it for a bit less and put the parts on an original rec., even if it is a drill rifle one.. As to the use of Drill rifle receivers just remember almost all the A4 clones on the market today use a drill rifle rec. I personally have restored over 100 of them and never have seen a problem. Realize that a restored DR is not worth what a unmolested gov rec rifle is worth, but if you want an inexpensive shooter that is one way to do it. Also I would feel safer shooting a DR that I restored than a National Ordnance receiver. My opinion, your mileage may vary

That's deep.
