Natural proficiency with a particular platform?

Do you win lots of combat type matches? Do you shoot groups, standing, as good as a machine-rest? I"ve seen quite a few guys who thought they were pretty good, until they attended a good sized match, and posted D class scores.

I shot expert in IDPA. I have won a lot of local shoots. I'm no pro or anything, just your average decent shooter who doesn't practice enough.
