Navigating Maryland purchase laws

Here is the situation. If you don't live in MD becareful exposure to MD laws may cause your head to spin, unless you live in NJ, MA or CA.

The Keltek P3AT is not on the approved list for sale in MD.
Keltek does not supply fired casings.
As far as I know production of the P3AT started after the fired case requirement.
Safety lock requirement is a moot point now.

My question is if I found a USED P3AT out of state could I get it sent to my FFL and transfer it to me and why?

I don't think you can buy it because it's not on the handgun roster.

The shell case requirement is only but one layer of defacto gun ban that we have here in MD. The roster sorts out those handguns which are too large, too small, too weak, too powerful, too cheaply made or otherwise more offensive than your average handgun

What Norton said. Now if you owned the P3AT out of state and then moved in state you could still legally keep it.
