There is a push to get better self defense laws in NC.

Further though there is a push to expand the places on may conceal carry in NC:

Restaurants that serve alcohol

State game lands

State forests

State parks

The NC General Assembly apparently starts up next week. So please contact your NC legislators and ask them to introduce reforms of concealed carry and expand self defense laws.

Technically, we already have castle doctrine, but there is a HUGE need for reform on the carry limitations thing.

May I suggest adding "places that charge an admission fee"? As it is I can't even go to a movie or a show downtown armed, and returning to my car parked in the alley at midnight after some show is when I'd really want to be armed!

Suggest whatever you want to your legislator.

Those were my suggestions

Legislative sessions starts Wednesday.

Contact your legislators if you want to expand the number of places one can concealed carry

If you are not from NC but visit and use a recognized permit from another state, you can do the same.

Lar, I'd also like to see some clarification around signage, akin to the Texas 30.06 law that specifies size, lettering and the like. I'm tired of the local establishments putting signs in tiny lettering and in inconspicuous places so you have to go searching around with a magnifying glass to find them. I think we would be better served however, if we were to collectively identify a possible legislative sponsor and get some time on his/her calendar to hash through this.

You should at least submit your suggestions to your rep who represents your district.

That is what I have done.

I would love to but I live in the gerimandered area "represented" by Melvin Watts. I have contacted him reguarding several issues in the past and received responses that politely said he did not care what I thought.
Please contct the other reps as not every area of NC is without representation and many reps do listened to the voters.

This is a STATE issue.

Mel Watt works in Washington not Raleigh.

LAR, You are absolutely correct. Thank you for your correction.
I have no representation in Washington.

True but since this is a state issue see who you state reps are (rep and senator) and send them a nice email or phone call.

peace

Legislators are drafting and introducing bills now.

Contact your reps on any gun laws you want changed.

I don't live in CLT any more. If I did it would do no good for me to talk to my rep because he is under federal and state investigation for corruption, bribery, political payoff, and other assorted criminal activities.

Mayberry my rear end.
