Neat finds today.

Well, I think they're neat anyway, though not so special probably.
Box of Winchester Western .30-30 brass. Never seen Win.West. at all, much less a little box of 20 unfired brass. Thought it was neat so for $5 I picked it up.



Also a box of Hornady Frontier Cartridges in .30carbine. Never seen this type at all, but again it was a neat box and a price I was willing to pay. We'll see how they work out of my Blackhawk. If nothing else, it really is a neat box to place in photos of said Blackhawk.




Like I said, never seen or even heard of either of these before, so guessing they're no longer produced. Anything you guys can tell me about either? I don't expect I have a collectors item or anything, but it'd be nice to know about when this stuff was produced and other such things.

The white Winchester box was discontinued in the early 90's. Prior to that it was a bright yellow box, from the 50's as I remember.

Funny you mention Western... I still post propellants with "WW". Hard to break the habit, just like I never have gotten used to "Alliant"... To me it's Hercules, and Alliant just sounds weird to me.

I had one of those old white boxes not long ago. It was older than 1990 though. Grandpa bought it, and he passed in 85.....N E way, it was a box of new, unfired, 7mm Rem Mag. It had been discounted 10%, as the box only had 19 in it....... Still works great...

yes, the white box came out in the early 70's. Lasted approx. 20 years, then they went to bulk and now to bags.
