Wife has allowed me to pic a scope choice for Xmas.
I have several extra rifle scopes for large caliber but in the 22 caliber range, not so much.
I know I could send a Leupold to mfg & they would move the parallax in closer but I want
to keep the ones I have, as is & not a one of them hold up close since most are set at 150 yards.
Every 4X I have for 22 cal are cheap stuff & the parallax sucks on them.
A 22 cal needs 25 yards out to 80 yards solid parallax., for my use anyhow.
Do any of you have any suggestions?
I prefer Leupold, or Nikon but am listening to any suggestions.
Dollar amount up to about $350 I guess, I haven't asked about that yet.

Do you want adjustable parallax? I'm unclear on that point.

If so, ask for one of the new VX-Freedom 3-9x33mm EFR scopes. I have it's predecessor, the VX-2 3-9x33mm EFR Ultralight and it's a fantastic scope on a .22LR sporter.

Nikon is out unless you find a used or new old stock scope. They are no longer manufacturing rifle scopes.

Also, this will likely get moved to optics.

I'm normally a 3-9 kinda guy for almost everything but the VXII 2-7 x 33 has been THE perfect fit for this rascal. And.... It's old-school pretty to boot!

I will most certainly be buying another for my Levermatic .22 mag Marlin.

All of my 22's have big game scopes with 150 yard parallax. It just ain't an issue. Use the focus ring to adjust for the range you'll be shooting and go shoot. I suspect you're having issues with cheap scopes, Parallax isn't your problem.
Adjust the focus ring for the range? That's eliminating parallax. I guarantee that if you use a centerfire scope set at 150yds you WILL see parallax issues at 100yds and under that worsens with greater magnification.

I hadn't even thought of it that way, I have a few with adjustable parallax but are in 7mm Mag & 300 Win Mag, rifles like that,
where they do the HEAVY work here.
Yes, a variable power with that option would work.
All my adj parallax work fine down to 3x & 4x at 25 yards, at least that is how I remember it.
I saved your scope info & everyone else, will look it up in AM. THANKS

Learn every day, even till the end.
I didn't know I could do that, stupid , stupid , stupid.[ more like just didn't know]
I THANK YOU, & assure you it isn't cheap scopes, I have 11 leupolds, unless you saw my thread
about $1000 vs $500 scopes.

@ApacheCoTodd, which CZ is that?

The 2-7x33 would be great, too. Just don't buy too much magnification for a .22. I spend most of my time around 4x or 5x.
