Hi all,

I need a new choke for my Nova. The Modified that came with the gun will not fit in it. I used it last season for waterfowl, but had a bugger of a time getting it out of the gun. And no it was the threads seizing. Right now the choke won't even go into the barrel far enough to engage the threads. So I think maybe it was just a bit out of spec and shooting 3" 1 or 2 steel shot last year changed the dimensions on it.

Anyway, looking for recommendations on a good choke for waterfowl. We hunt mostly over decoys. But will certainly do pass shooting if we can't get them to come into the decoys. I can get another Benelli OEM choke for around 30 bucks, or spend the same (or a bit more) for a after-market.

What have you guys had good luck with for that kind of shooting?

Yup - the two other chokes that came with the gun both drop in and screw down no problem. I cleaned the threads, used choke tube lube, etc. The choke in question only goes in maybe half way and then sticks.

A call to Benelli Customer Service will ease your pains. The number is in the manual. Usually pretty fast service.

Choke was marked for steel. Only one that isn't is the Full choke. I'll call Benelli tomorrow and see what they say. If I can get a free replacement - great. If not I'll buy a Briley replacement.
