Do you carry at home? You may want to see this. I live about 25 miles from this inncident. Not really a bad neighborhood, just a little too close to a bad neighborhood. :(

I am NEVER without my old S&W Mdl. 60 .38 Spec., in my pocket, in a Milt Sparks Pocket Holster. Never.

Well, better add a caveat to that. I don't wear pajamas where I could have the pocket holster, ): so my Colt's Lightweight Commander is in a nylon holster straped to the bedpost, when I sleep.

Hey, thanks for the link.

My fiancee thinks I'm paranoid for carrying concealed around my house even when in bed and asleep, my small revo and knife stays with me 24/7/365. My SIG pistol and a shotty are within reach.

I figured, what if I'm watching TV in the family room or eating dinner and someone decides to storm my house. I live in a decent sized, 2 story house and If I have the need for a gun, I'd have to go up 38 flight upstairs, walk thru the hallway past 4 bedrooms to the master bedroom and retrieve my SIG. I'd prolly be dead by then.

We live on 40 acres 25 miles from town. That's at least 30 minutes for a deputy to get here if they dispatched him(her) immediately after a 911 call.

Not much to worry about around here, unless some desperado was passing through, which happens every decade or so.

Anyway, I carry my 357 (open, who cares?) about 16/7, in other words whenever I am not in bed or in the shower. Work at home, so no issue there.

I'm hearing impaired in both ears -- as a woman, if I had my own place, I'd carry all the time in the house, especially when alone at night.

Makes me want to move up from the P-32 to a bigger carry piece.

Naaaa! A P-32 in the pocket is worth two Glocks in the safe. :D

Tallpine;

I too am from the more or less, middle of Montana. It's seems to me as though us 'tanans are the only ones who will admit that they don't carry in the shower, re this 24/7 thing. Other than that though, I usually am armed around the house.

I got in the habit of doing that when I lived in another community.
The streets there were labeled pretty much in the following manner: 20th (a major crosstown artery), 21st, Greenwood, 22nd. 23rd. I lived on 'Greenwood'. In the back of my mind was always the possibility of having some no-knock warrant served to the same address on 22nd & greeting the local black pajama crowd in my bedroom at 0-dark thirty. Not that I'd be looking for a fight, but would anybody else want to wait for positive identification when you hear your door slammed open at 4 AM? Yeah, they're supposed to shout POLICE or FBI or whatever. But then they are supposed to do a lot of things that I see them not doing.

My 1911 goes on with my jeans in the morning. (...and doesn't have to be covered up when just puttering about the neighborhood. :D )

I keep the P32 in my pocket pretty much every minute.

Where we live, if someone wanders into my house, they probably meant to. I'm not saying I'm gonna come at them blasting as I realize accidents happen... maybe someone was in the middle of nowhere and fell off his bike or something but if someones walking around downstairs, they WILL see the business end of the P32 if they're lucky. The 870 if they're not so lucky. ;)

Wife is used to it by now ........... and it's pretty much a 24/7 thing ....... night-times the piece is on floor and hardly visible ... making for an easy drop of right arm to aquire same.

The neighborhood is good .... and odds are probably many 1,000's : 1 against a dramatic home intrusion but hey ..... who's to say it'll never happen?

Furthemore ... the constancy of carrying makes for a total familiarity with the piece's presence ...... no different from a wrist watch.

I value my skin and that of my family ........ nuff said.:)

I carry everyday.I can't carry at my job(Mental Hosp.)but I carry to and from and at all times other than that.I think I need a bathroom gun.Just an old beater to leave in the cabinate. It's the only place I'm not armed(in the morning when I'm getting ready).Yeah I mow armed, nap on the couch armed,go to the mail box armed......better paranoid than dead.

Well im glad i moved from over there. This is two home invasions with a death involved on that side of town in less than a month.

I do keep my sw99 laying close at hand when im here at my computer. Occasonaly i put it beside on the table when Im in the bed. But im sooooo glad i moved now

To change things a little. How did this POS get into the house. It rather sounds like he walked thru front door. (Ok burst thru)...
I would hope my front door could take more then one hit by a POS before breaking down. Or was the door even closed?/locked?...
If family is around I don't carry in house. But if alone I do. I also lock bedroom door AND bathroom door when I am inside. I always have at least one loaded firearm in a accessible location in my house. I try to take it to range once a year and then clean/reload it for future.

I tend to carry at home or to have a gun nearby pretty much anywhere all the time.

btw, that's a pretty scary story, too. especially that this guy is still on the loose.

I carry here in my apt. I have heard glass breaking, Screams for help...etc.

I went by mom's earlier today to restring the clotheline, I was carrying concealed, as I always do. Some fellow knocks on the front door asking for directions...mom hollers out the back door for me. Fellow made an honest mistake on address...but one never knows. Delivering flowers...he had the truck, the logo shirt...

I always carry two guns concealed. As I type this, I have my G30 strong side IWB and my S&W 642 front pocket. One never knows what might happen, and I prefer to be prepared at all times. Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

P32 is always in the pocket, if not a 9mm somewhere on me.

We have has an increasing number of home invasions in the 3 county area I live in.

My wife finally took note when I said that if thugs blasted in right now, they would be standing right here in 2 seconds. What would she do.

I live in the city/burbs.
