Does anyone know where (or if) I can find an adapter to use a Redding powder measure on a Dillon 650 reloader.

The Dillon measure is excellent, but I would like to have the precision of the Redding measure. Thanks in advance.

To answer your ?, I need to ask one first. Does the redding measure have threads on the bottom that screw into a standard 7/8 14 die hole?

If so, then the Hornady case activated powder die will work for you. Another thing is the handle, it has to be connected to the linkage of the hornady die.

If yours can be adapted, I highly reccomend the set-up as a replacement for the dillon measure. I never used the dillon rifle bar in their measure, I went right to the hornady set-up.

I have a hard time believing that one powder measure is better than another. It all boils down to resolution of the scale you are using to say a Redding is more consistant. Too many variables. Good Luck in you search.

Here is a link to the new style Hornady Powder drop linkage.

You should note that this newer style is set up so that you can use it with powder through expanders, or just regular case activated bushings.

It is also possible to use these quick change powder dies to set up one for each caliber you load and just move the powder measure from one toolhead to the other.

There is also an older version of the Hornady Linkage which does not use the Powder through expanders, just regular case activated powder drop bushings. I had this one, and tried to adjust it to use the powder through expanders unsuccessfully. When I called Hornady, they advised I couldn't use them with the older linkage, and I had to purchase the new linkage. The newer linkage works well with the Powder through exanders, but it took me a little trial and error to get the linkage adjusted to properly bell the case mouth. (.40 S&W)

There are some great threads detailing the adjustment for this linkage.

Here is a link to an RCBS version of that linkage,

I am not sure if there is any way to use the RCBS with powder through expanders. That linkage looks more like the old style Hornady I had.

Best of luck with that.
