need advice on books

I'm looking at buying a couple of books. What I'd like is a book on the M1 Garand and a book on the M1 Carbine. I'd like history, operation and maintenance information on each gun.

So, if you had to buy only one book on each gun, what would you buy?

M-1 Carbine-- M1 Carbine by Larry Ruth

I'm finding The M1 Carbine Owner's Guide by Larry Ruth and Scott Duff to be very informative.
