I just got my C&R today *happy dance* and I have found an Ishapore Enfield 2A 308 on gunbroker. Risking competition for this rifle, I have a few questions

1. Is this gun a C&R.

2. Would it be a good buy? I'm not sure. The gun looks a little beat up, but so does my M91/30 and it shoots great. Opinions?

3. Is there a better place that has these rifles?

Ishapore Enfield 2A 308

Thanks everyone.

Yes, the gun is a C&R.

Not the best price I've seen, but not the worst. But, as you mentioned, you've given alot of potential bidders a free headsup, and there's already one bid. Expect that price to top out near $200, which is NOT a good price.

Also, kind of suspect that the seller isn't the owner of the gun and cautions that shipping could take a while. Dunno that I would buy from him.

That said, they're generally good shooters and built very tough.

No one is importing them right now, but you might have luck at BDL - Brian Dick is a good egg and probably has a couple he'd sell you.

There's one on Auction Arms right now too, but also has a lot of bids on it.

You might also consider buying a std. Enfield.....you can get a very nice British No4 or No1 for around $100 from SOG. .303 isn't as common as .308, but it's out there and cheap enough.
