I am in need of some assistance in finding the better choice of these 'gun safes' (RSCs), and to get some advice on my required placement. My space for placing the RSC is only 23in wide. It's going to be placed inside a small closet, bolted to the slab. The closet door will be a solid core wood door, deadbolt, with stud hinges. The wall that would be against the back of the RSC is shared with an equal sized, adjacent closet in another room. To better protect the back of the safe, I was thinking of screwing a thick, fitted hardwood board to the wall stud(s) so that it may be between the back of the RSC and the shared closet wall. Also, would dead-bolting the hinged side of the closet door be beneficial at all? Any advice/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I feel purchasing a gun safe is a very important decision. My first one was from Sam's Club more than several (4?) years ago. It was made in the USA and came with the key pad. I found interior space shrinks as time goes by... BTW there are related threads about this same topic on THR. Good luck
