Need advise from Fellow THR members

I want a gun for home and range (to supplement the many others I own).
Here are my choices and OTD prices.
1. Kahr CW9=$430 -NIB
2. Springfield Xd9= $465 - NIB
3. Beretta PX4=$520 - NIB
4. Glock 17 (2nd gen) w/night sites-$438 - Police trade in.
5. Glock 17 (3rd gen) w/night sites-$474 - LNIB

What are your opinions as to which I should get?

Since you stated that the gun will be for "home and range use", I will assume that you wont have to worry with trying to conceal it. So for a home defense gun I would personally go for the Glock 17, with the Springfield XD being a close second. (FWIW Glocks fit my hand better than XDs)

any preference, 2nd or 3rd generation?

I CCW a Smith 637 or the Kahr PM9, so concealment is not an issue

I'd probably go with the second gen 17 or third gen 17, but that's because I want one and they will cover your listed uses very well.

Or maybe the PX4.

Probably the CW9 actually because I don't have anything quite that small but a Glock 27.

I vote for the Springfield or the Beretta. But would lean more toward an XDm. Its around the $550-650 mark but it is worth it.

based on the advise on a few forums, I will go with the LNIB model 17 with 3 mags. thanks to all that offered their great thoughts.
