Need camera advice for gun pics

most of the images are with canon DSLR's but some are with P&S, with most cameras its the same, tripod and available light.
some P&S use RAW files, if they do then you can easily compensate for the white balance errors

I would love to use my camera to get some images at work, mainly so I could give you guys some real machinery to drool over!!
(L85 &86, AI Sniper, Minimi, GPMG, 30mm canon anyone?)

however, A. I'm just too busy
B, I would get accused of being a whacko!!

Kodak C340 taken at 4 MP, no tripod. Tiny camera, tiny price. I'm happy with it at about a year and a half.

I remember the thread where guns were photographed by scanner. Some came out with a really neat look to them.
