Hey Marlin experts! I'm trying to acquire a Marlin 336 30-30. I found one that is supposedly a 336RC, but the deal is the owner says it is new/unfired from 1990 and has the cross-bolt safety. The Blue Book says they were only made from '48 to '68. I know any model with a cross-bolt safety is not that old. Doing some searches seem to confirm this.
After further questioning, it came out of an estate sale, so I'm not sure if he purchased it from the estate sale in 1990 or if the rifle is supposed to have been made in 1990.
