Ok, long story even longer. I was/am interested in purchasing a mare's leg but can't justify the cost of the henry. So, does anyone own a rossi ranch hand. They are much more affordable right now, around $400 here, if I could find one, which I can't. But ANYWHOO, if you own one, hows the reliabilty been? How many rounds you shot through it? And what caliber do you have? Mainsail my friend, I hope to here from you as well. I promise guys, all my threads won't be about cut down lever-actions. THANK YOU ALL for your replies.

I have 200 rounds of reloads through mine and it's been 100%

The only drama has been the sharp edges around the loading gate. It's fine as long as you don't poke your pinky up there to push the round just that little bit farther to get the gate to close behind it.

It's a really fun gun to shoot. It's not entirely practical as practical guns go. I wouldn't choose it as a first or only gun by any means. Like I said, it's a fun gun for having fun; it could certainly protect you if needed though.

Thanks for the feedback again buddy. The reason I started this thread, is because I was expecting the other one to kind of die of since my pirchase of the marlin 336. Seems like it's still kickin' though. Glad you're having such good luck with your's. Since all the positive feedback on the rossi, I'm pretty much sold on the ranch hand. Have'nt seen one around here in a while though. When I do ,I'll snatch it up. As long as it's .44mag of course. Until then, I'll be working on getting the marlin modified and broken in. Guess I'll be watching the western channel tonight, shootin' every Indian I see. Lol
