I was eyeballin' a Vulcan Arms AR-15 set up like an M-4A3 that has "carbon/aramid" upper and lower receivers for $595.00. This seems like a great price considering that the average aluminum receiver AR from other companies are hovering @ $1000.00

I am not familiar with this brand...what's the scoop on them???

They had to change names to Vulcan Arms because Hesse had such a bad rep.

Guns are generally just like cars. You get what you pay for.

The general consensus on Vulcan is that they are just malformed paperweights and are poorly made. Stories of lowers out of spec, poor finish, and in some cases soft steel, are widespread. That being said, I know very few people who have actually examined a Vulcan firearm, or even owned one to make such a judgment. There are people out there that own Vulcan firearms that claim they function flawlessly. Personally, I would stay away from Vulcan firearms, even without any firsthand experience or even secondhand experience, their reputation is just too bad to trust.
