Need good gunsmith

I have a model 19 Smith in excellent condition with a round butt and four inch barrel. I'd like to have the barrel shortened to three inches. Anyone know a good gunsmith?

But you might consider just replacing the barrel. There are 3" barrels available for that gun and the cost might be less than for cutting the barrel.

Are you sure these barrels are avaible? Some internet sites report they're no longer in production.

I would try to find a barrel before cutting the 4 inch at all. Gun Parts Corp had some and might still have them, i know they have model 29 .44 mag stuff i just finnished doing a 2 inch build for myself(Wow)flame Throwing little Sob.It's worth calling them anyway to find out,good luck with the project.

Well, the thing is I can't find a 3 inch barrel anywhere. Anyone know of any 2.5 inchers around? This is becoming more complicated than expected and the last thing I want to do is screw up my gun.
