My girlfriend is being offered a shotgun by a friend of the family, but we need to get it appraised to help determine the value.

The gun in question is a Belgian Browning Semi Auto 20 Gauge. We know it's fairly old, but haven't been able to find an accurate manufacture date. It seems to be in fairly good shape considering its age. Wear is limited to what you would expect on a gun that's been well used but also well cared for over the years. The metal is in good shape, no pitting. The finish has some wear, and the wood also shows some signs of wear but nothing major. Whoever cleaned the bore last did a wonderful job, and it's polished to almost a mirror finish.

It's a fixed choke, but I can't tell what the choke is from any of the markings on the barrel. I don't have a 20 gauge choke tube gauge, so I'm going to have to take it to a shop to see what the choke is.

I'm attaching some photos to see if you fine folks can point us in the direction of more information, and hopefully give us some idea of an approximate value as well.

I should also point out that this gun does fit her pretty well, and she likes it. It's mainly a question of determining a fair value for it, which is the seller's request. (remember he's a friend of the family, so it's a bit of an odd case)
