I wan't a Kimber, but I'm having one hell of time trying to decide between the Warrior and Raptor. Which one would you buy, and why?

edit: I will also be using this as a dialy CCW.

Buy the one you want. You can carry a full-size 1911, several do.

I recall that the Warrior has the series I setup, without the firing pin block, which is better all around than the series II guns. Not sure about the Raptor.

Yeah the Raptor is a series II, The problem is that I want them both but only have enuf money for one. I'm just looking for an all round opinion on them, to see if one out performs the other or if one is more reliable than the other etc... they're probly both the same in those factors, but it's just one hell of a decision to make when you're about to drop 1,300 on a gun, and yes this will be my first hand gun to own, and probly the only one for a few years.

The Warrior was built for the Marine Corps Spec Ops guys, it is maximized to be a CQB pistol.

The Raptor is basically the same gun maximized to look good (and shoot good as well,) functionally the guns are very similar, the Warrior does not have the "Schwartz" saftey other than that they are as alike as a machine can make anything.

Choose the look and features you like, buy 500-600 rounds of ball, a cleaning kit, a bottle of CLP and go to the range and break it in.

Be prepared to go broke because you have now joined the group that always wants just one more 1911. :evil: They are more addictive than crack (and damn near as expensive.)

Buy them both You will sooner or later. Then you will start with Colts Springers and move on to ED Brown Wilson , and so forth. Can never have to many 1911's

I have the Raptor II & Ultra Raptor II both with internal extractor. Love them both. I think the Raptor Series is the best gun Kimber makes. nothin against the Warrior I just like the look of the Raptor's.

Still looking for a Pro Raptor already in CA for a PPT. Contact me if you klnow of anyone who is willing to part with the one they have.

Thanks guys for the help. I'm going to be getting the Raptor, I love the way it looks. Can't wait to own it so I can really enjoy the beuty of it :)

Well, early upon their release for sale I bought a standard 5" Kimber Raptor II;
that was really a good weapon in its own right, but I used it in a trade-up to
a Les Baer TRS. Most likely, had I bought the Warrior in the first place; I would
probably still have it? And, if faced with a decision of purchasing a Raptor
or a Warrior; I would definitely choose the regular Warrior, as it just looks
a whole lot better than the Desert Warrior [at least too me]~! ;)
