I've seen threads were some members have posted recoil energy and velocity. I need this assistance. The figures are the following:

1- 11.4 lbs rifle scoped, 400gr at 2300 fps 404 jeffery
2- 11.4 lbs rifle scoped, 400gr at 2400 fps 416 Rem or Rigby
3- 10.8 lbs rifle scoped, 400gr at 2300 fps
4- 10.8 lbs rifle scoped, 400gr at 2400 fps
5- 10.6 lbs rifle scoped, 300gr at 2725 fps 375 H&H

Thanks for the help

The powder charge is part of the "ejecta" (the stuff that comes out of the muzzle), so for an accurate calculation, you include the powder charge.

It is in a different form (gas instead of solid), but it's the same weight.

The only one of the five that will be significantly different is number five because of the drop in bullet weight. The small differences in rifle weight and velocity are not going to make appreciable recoil differences.

Thanks dmazur, that certainly makes sense as you described it. I should have realized that.
It shows you're never too old to learn.
