need help fn 30-06

i have a 30-06 fn I have searched for a week with no results it is fab nat darmes de guerre herstal belgique the numbers match 13182 the marking are elc hope someone can help me. it looks like a sportster with step down barrel hope can upload pic cnt upload any thing says file to large. they are only jpgs there are no marking like cal 30-06
 
FN made a bunch of .30-06 Mausers from 1950 for armies who wanted US ammo but could not get Garands donated or afford SAFNs. So you might have a sporterized surplus rifle.
Some older factory sporters had stepped barrels like military.
We can opine more when you get the pictures scaled down to post.
 
FN also made a series of post-war sporters with stepped barrel contour. Most of these rifles do not have the cutout on the left receiver (for clip loading clearance) wall that the military actions do. They also made the FN Browning rifles which are very similar. Both are excellent rifles.
You should be able to find photos of both types on-line.

This is an important point - the way to tell a military from a civilian FN Mauser is to look for the presence/absence of the thumb cutout on the left receiver wall.
