Hey W.E.G., The title reads: Need help, FN FS2000 rust!!!

I don't need your foolish comment:
That pic looks like an alien star-cruiser crashed into a wig shop.

"Spaaace, the Final fron......hey is that a wig?"

Squirt it with CLP, it'll wipe right off with enough scrubbing. Keep it wetter from now on, guns in storage should drip. Can't pick up a single one of my Ar's in storage with out a gun rag.

Let me know if you want to sell it. I'll take it off your hands cheap, since it's rusty and all...

I'm going to echo exactly what Zerodefect said. Scrub it off, and make it swim in oil. You said you store it in it's original box, so it's not like you've wrapped it up in a gun sock or anything. Did you ever strip and clean it after you bought it? It might just be in need of a good detail strip.

I'm not sure you're totally familiar with just how much Alien Star Cruisers cost.

On a more serious note, CLP may remove, and will protect from further rusting.

If you don't want funny comments then use a picture that actually shows something.

To fix just rub some oil on it, CLP is good but any decent gun oil will do.

W.E.G.'s comment seems spot-on and quite insightful. I can't get any useful info from the photo. I don't see any rust, and I can hardly identify the gas block. See if your camera has a macro setting (often indicated by a flower pictogram).

You shouldn't have any rust. Are you certain that's what it is?

I love it. Star Cruiser and wig. Hilarious.

I have no help for you dude, but if you have enough $$$ for a FS2000, and no idea how to remove rust from a gun then I have already made my preconception solid in my own nugget.

Some of the carping and biting in these comments is of a personal nature, not helpful at all, and most certainly not "High Road." Gees guys, come on! Help the OC out if you can. If you can't, just keep your opinions to yourself.

Well, I'm not sure What the finish is like on the FS2000, but I had to clean up some Steel G3 mags recently, and found that fine steel wool and WD-40 got light surface rust off the parkerized surface while having a minimal effect on the finish. Follow with a light wiping with CLP or just gun oil, should look good as new unless you break out a magnifying glass.

Thank you stubbicatt, nwilliams, and driftertank for your helpful comments. Glad to see some professional people are still left at thehighroad.

Dude? I gave some spot on advice and asked a legitimate question:

Now my feelings are borderline hurt.
