Kids, I will be getting my new Hornady LNL AP this Fri. and they suggest taking the powder measure apart and cleaning it with Hornady one shot.
I didn't order this with the press as I didn't know I had to do that, is there any other method I could use? The ONE SHOT is a cleaner and lube combined.
Any help sure would be appreciated.:)

I used Hoppes #9 on the metal parts to remove the heavy oil residue. Also use the same to clean new dies.

Hoppes will be fine on all the metal parts. Wash the plastic powder tube with detergent and then wipe the inside with an anti-static dryer sheet.

Get some of the OneShot lube anyways. I lube the dies, first 5 or so pistol cases then add one every 25 or 40 cases in the case feeder stack. It relubes the size die and all others, reducing friction. Really makes it smoother / less effort. Works like a champ on the rifle cases also. Overlube the first five and then normal lube the rest.

I talked to customer service when I got mine. He recommended that I use Dawn dish soap and warm water to clean all the disassembled parts. After wiping down and drying for 24 hours, I gave the moving parts a light shot of silicone lube spray. After reassembly a shot of graphite.

I cleaned all of my Hornady metal parts (shipped with a anti-rust coating) with a spray brake parts cleaner (Walmart brand) and have had no problems.
