I have a IWI Baby Eagle .45 that I'd like to put a new, heavier recoil spring into. From what I've recently dug up,I have a "semi-compact", since,as it turns out, ALL the B.E. .45's are "semi-compact".
It appears that a spring from either a CZ75 or EAA witness should be compatible, but I'm not sure about the compatibility with the "semi-compact" part. Can I just get a heavier CZ75 spring and cut it down, or are they all the same size ? ( though I would expect so).
I assume the oft-recommended Wolff springs would work well, too. I guess I could call up Brownells or Midway and ask them, but I don't generally have good luck relying on the guy answering the phone to know what he's talking about. Anyway, any help/info/advice much appreciated.......

Have you tried looking into getting a witness .45 recoil spring? I think they might be the same but don't take that for truth. This is something that interests me definitely I have a .45 Jericho as well and I wanna know what to do if I need to replace parts. Does yours have one spring that fits over top of another for its recoil spring?

Yep, there's an inner and outer recoil spring. I was (am) having odd ejection patterns, and it's been suggested that I try a heavier spring, then while researching this I found a few complaints that the factory spring seems to weeken prematurely, so I figure I should change it out soon.
