I have the semi-compact Baby Eagle. Full Steel with frame mounted safety.
Very accurate(polygonal barrel) and totally reliable.
Noticed that the recoil spring is getting 'soft'.
Understand that the full size BE has the double recoil spring and the Semi-compact only the single?

Anybody know if aftermarket springs are available, meaning something stiffer or double for the Semi?

Thanks

You have that backwards. The full size has a single spring and the semi-compact has the double spring.

Loadeddrum,

this is where it gets strange - my semi-compact does have the single spring?
Bought the gun new, never replaced it.
Will try to post a picture when I get home - can some Baby Eagle owner shed some light on this?

Wow, that is weird. I had both, and still have the semi-compact. The big one had the single spring and the semi has the double spring.

My semi-compact Jericho 45 FS had the double recoil spring originally, I've since replaced it with a Wolff "CZ 75/EAA Witness" full-sized single coil spring trimmed to fit and had no problems.

Well, here it is.
If , in fact it is true that I needed a double spring all this time -
the Baby Eagle worked perfectly with only one !

And the solution is...

After sending the above picture to Magnum Research I got this answer:

"Ok, you have the older model with the frame mounted safety...makes more
sense.
Inner recoil spring, part #00621-1182 for $5.00 each plus $2.00 for
mailing."

So there we have it - my 'older' model does in fact only have one spring which is referred to as the 'inner spring'. Wonder when and why later models switched to a double spring?

Thanks to all who tried to help.

The rear sight is an aftermarket Millet with Trijicon inserts as the factory sight were useless to me. Meaning the gun was so accurate that I thought I need to take full advantage of it by being able to finetune point of impact. Had it installed by a gunsmith and am very happy with the result.
