I have been really thinking hard about a Khar for concealed carry, but i have a question. What does the cw9 model have or don't have that the p9 and the k9 have. I know the k9 is steel framed, and the p9 is the polymer frame, but I am sure that the cw9 is polymer as well. what are the differences in these models. the main reason i ask is because a local gun shop has a sale on khar cw9's brand new for $381.97 now that sounds like a deal to me what do yall think? thanks again in advance! And let me just say that this site is a dream come true and I truely enjoy the advice and replies I recieve! thanks!

thanks dfariswheel,

So would you recomend it over the p9 or the k9? Or should i pay a little more and get on of the above mentioned? Thanks!

I can't recomend any of the plastic Kahr pistols. I just don't think they are good enough yet. I can recomend the K-9 as it is probably the best single stack medium frame 9mm ever made. There is a world of difference between the K-9 and the P-9. I can't see the CW-9 being any crappier than the P-9 so if you want a plastic gun for some reason, go with the cheaper one. At least that way you will only be out $381 instead of $550 when you realize that the plastic Kahrs are junk and you want an all steel one.

I've an MK40 and a PM40. The extra weight of the steel MK40 is nice at the range but a real loser for carry. If you really are buying it for carry you'll never regret having the lighter weight gun, unless you end up not carrying it.

I got a CW9 so I could have cheap ammo practice with the Kahr trigger, and I can't recommend it at this point. Had three problems discovered in less that a box of ammo - slide wouldn't lock back, mis-fires from weak primer strikes, and the front frame rails "warped" leaving about 1/8" up and down play between slide and frame at the front. My dealer sent it back to Kahr, been two weeks, haven't heard anything back yet.
