I need help with an ID for this rifle. I have been searching for more information, but now its time to turn to the experts. I was directed here from another forum. This rifle has been in my family for many years now. I have no idea what it is except that it came from Gettysburg, PA. The rifle has Philadelphia stamped on the side. It also has XXXXX Xroth above Philadelphia (The X's are illegible). According to my family it was used in the civil war, but that is all that they can tell me.

Anyone have any ideas?

Looks like a nice example of an original Pennsylvania Rifle. Predates the Civil War by quite a few years, more like the American Revolution or War of 1812 time period.
