Hello, my name is Jake and I need help with some old rifles. Had some friends tell me that this was the place for answers.

The first rifle seems very old. As of right now its missing the bolt. The only markings on the gun are "ND" and "816D" stamped on all the parts. There is also a crown looking symbol with an "E" stamped below it.

I have more pics if needed.
The second rifle seems newer. Looks like someone refinished it.

I have more pics of this rifle as well.

Thanks Jim. The first gun definately looks like that Dutch Beumont Vitali.

Still not sure about the second gun posted. I can post more more pics if needed.

Thanks, Jake

The second rifle is definitely a late-WWII Type 99 Japanese Arisaka. The stock is original, but has been cut off at the front to "sporterize" the gun.

The caliber, unless altered, is 7.7 Japanese (7.7x58mm). Ammunition is available (not cheap), but note that some people advise against firing very late war rifles.

I did find a pic after a little more research that did look more like the Type 99 that we have. I was'nt sure about the first ones I looked at. It has been cut and thats too bad. Again, I would like to thank you guys for the help.

Since Emma was only regent, would they have put her initial on or would they have used the initial of the monarch (W) even though underage?
