I think this could be a Cossack/Dragoon stock, if it is over 40". An M38 stock is 36.5". However, I don't believe the stock has been down. Which ever, the upper stock is missing. But the receiver is Izhevsk marked 1929. Barrel band spring cutouts have been filled in. I just cannot put my finger on it. You might try russian-mosin-nagant.com.
