To a columnist who is no supporter of our rights to keep and bear arms. She wrote an article http://www.suntimes.com/output/washington/cst-edt-laura281.html and I replied with Gun Control Does not work. Look at Chicago. No guns allowed, Yet they have the highest murder rate in the nation. What we need is the 20,000 or so gun laws already on the books enforced. No amount of gun laws were going to stop that boy from murdering his family, the children, or himself. It is only the law abiding who are affected.
Next consider this. In every state where concealed carry has passed the crime rate has dropped. Not because of fear of the police or new gun control laws, but because the criminal element now realizes that they are not preying on defenseless victims.
There has not been "Old west style" shootouts in the streets. The law abiding citizens that have been given back their right to self defense have shown greater restraint in the use of deadly force then even the police.
I would ask you to please leave emotion out of your writings and start looking up facts. Thank you.

I just got a return email from her. She would like to quote me and in a new article and use my name and town. Seems she has got a lot of replies to her article and she wants to do a follow up.
My initial reaction is no. Since she is no friend of ours I can't see her writing an unbiased article that places me or anyone else who believes in our second amendment rights in a good light. What do you think?

Say you would be interested, but you want a guarantee that you will be quoted exactly, in full context. And that you reserve the right to preview said article BEFORE it is published.
