I am planning to replace the stock on my Olympic AR with a better one. The collapsible stock that is on it is functional for now but it just seems kind of cheap and it rattles too much.
I am looking for a collapsible stock that doesn't rattle much (I know that because of how they are made they will probably rattle a little bit no matter what). Less is better.
The construction on mine also seems a little cheesy. The nut that holds the adjustment handle on fell off when I first got it so I center punched it a few times to keep it from working loose again but I want the arrangement with the roll pin through the nut instead.
I am also planning to replace the plastic factory buffer with a standard carbine buffer. The gun works perfectly with the one that is in it but trust metal over plastic. I am thinking standard weight will do but I have also seen heavier buffers around. What are they for?
I am looking at M4 stocks from Calvary Arms, ACE, and Stag Arms. What is my best bet? Have I overlooked any?
I would like to order one this week before I go back to work.
Thanks.
BTW - I put this here because it is more about a part than the actual rifle. Sorry if it should have been in the rifle forum.
