Need hi-vis sights?

Yesterday, I was shooting my 640 at the range, and when I tried to aim at a darker target, couldn't-- I couldn't see the front sight against the darker background.

Now, I also have a Crimson Trace in the grip, so perhaps this really isn't an issue, but I feel the front sight should be something with a little more visibility.

Suggestions? (Including "do nothing".)

I have just the opposite problem with high-vis sights in broad daylight.

They wash out so bad I can't get good groups with them at all.

But most shootings occur in low-light situations, right?

I think that's why they invented tactical lights...so you can hold the light in your left hand and illuminate the front sight...
