Howdy all! I have an old EIG 36 Navy brass frame revolver. I want to replace a few worn parts, mainly the hand, wedge, and cylinder, but I don't know who made it. From the little info I can find, EIG was just the importer. Can anyone tell me who made this and if Pietta or Uberti parts will work with some fitting? I assume the wedge would be easy to fit, maybe the hand too, but I have no clue if a pietta cylinder could be made to fit. Date code puts it as a 1969 I believe.

As for the hand, I was advised to always order a Uberti hand because of superior metal that can be worked more easily and even stretched if required.

The manufacturer's mark is the one to the right of the EIG compass logo on the heel strap in your first photo of the butt of your revolver.
It is a "G," an "L" and a "B" superimposed upon each other.
It was used by the Italian gun manufacturer "Giacosa Luciano" who worked in Brescia, (GLB) Italy but is no longer in business.
I do not know if parts are available any where or if other manufactures' parts might fit - Sorry!

I would set up a search on Ebay for "Black Powder Cylinder" or what ever parts you need and check it every week or so.
People will buy guns to sell for parts on there.
Right now there are lots of BP cylinders but most are Pietta, Uberti or ASM.
There is one with beat-up nipples that is not listed by manufacturer but the dimensions are given:

Good to know, thanks for the replies. As for cylinders, I was actually looking into a Kirst 22lr conversion cylinder for this, planned on practicing some gunsmith stuff on this gun and turn it into a little project. Their site says it fits Uberti, Pietta, and ASM with some fitting, but I wasn't sure if all arbors are the same diameter across manufacturers. I assume if they are, I can fit the cylinder to my gun.

You might want to measure the arbor diameter, it's been my experience that on the older stuff the diameter is different from one maker to the next. If the cylinder you order has a center hole that's small you may be able to bore it out to fit but then there's other things like will it index properly and will the chambers line up with the bore.

Original parts are unobtanium and they were soft anyway. It may be possible to rework another manufacturers parts to fit. As for the cylinder not only do you have to check arbor fit and indexing but the bolt notches may not be in the same place and may be too wide or narrow.

Thanks for the info, sounds like it could be more trouble than it's worth. I'll email Kirst and see if they have any idea.

I think that I have read on here that you can send a revolver to Taylor's and they will fit the conversion cylinder for you!?!
