I have a Stevens SxS 12 gage shotgun which belonged to my father-in-law. I doubt this has any significant value other than my own sentimental attachment to it. I would like to know the model number and approximate value.
There is no model designation or serial number on any of the three parts.
The right barrel is marked:
STEVENS ARMS COMPANY
CHICOPEE FALLS MASS USA SELECTED FORGED STEEL
The left barrel is marked:
PROOF TESTED 12 GAGE
|---2 3/4 INCH CHAMBER---|
The forestock is a pull off beavertail style. Both stocks appear to be a rather open grained walnut and are checkered, although not high quality checkering, and wood to metal fit is only fair.. It has a red rubber recoil pad
The action is boxlock, and has an engraved floral pattern. General condition of the gun is fair.
The triggerguard is metal, and appears to be painted rather than blued.
Any information you can give me would be appreciated.
