I am currently working on building myself a hunting rifle on a 93 Mauser action and have started looking around for stock options. It's a fairly cheap build so I'm not looking for high end wood but want to stick with a solid wood stock. I see that Boyds sells two stocks for this action, the RIA and the JRS. I was wondering if anyone here has one of these stocks or better yet both so that they could give me some opinions. Any other ideas would be great as well. Low weight and decent price are the main factors here. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have stock ordered from Richards micro-fit for a sporterized mosin-nagant I'm working on. I havent got it yet, so I can't give you any feedback... but there are a good selection of styles in both solid wood as well as laminate. I've talked to a couple of people who sound happy with them, you might want to check them out. They do seem to take a long time, I was told 6-8 weeks when I ordered ~3 weeks ago.

Looks like Richards may have a few more options. Anyone else have any hands on experience with any of these stocks.

I've done a review of Richards and I have some pictures of what my project Mauser looked like after completion around here somewhere. The thing about Richards, they have a lot of different styles and inlet for a lot different actions. They say they're 99% inletted, but that 1% that's left is easily the hardest. You'll have to get yourself ready to do a lot of filing and chiseling to get a fit. Also, when I ordered they had at 10-12 week wait before they would ship. They also had horrible customer service during the time I dealt with them. 80% of the time, nobody even answered their phone. Don't bank on getting a call back either. If you've got plenty of time and patience, they have a good product.
