I'm building/having built a semi-custom mauser out of a Yugo M48. I will be using a Boyd's stock, Timney safety, and Bold trigger. I'm fairly certain I can do all of that myself but might need some gunsmith work to get a great fit on the stock.

How much (roughly) do you think I should be looking at to get a recoil pad put on the stock, receiver drilled/tapped and scope mounts installed, bolt bent and everything reblued?

Your going to face a cost of around $300 to do the work you need. Ad that to the cost of the stock, and the cost of the gun, and you will see why customizing a military rifle is no longer a wide spread practice.

I know it really isn't worth it but it's my Christmas gift to myself. Since I can afford to make myself a nice rifle I'm going to, even though I know I could buy something else for cheaper. The rifle in it's current stock form shoots about 2 MOA, so with a bit of tweaking and a decent trigger should be a pretty good shooter.

skaggs is pretty reasonable on their pricing, i would figure around $300 with blueing, maybee a little less if you do the metal prep.
i would do a welded bolt handle over a bent. it cost the same and you get a lower better looking handle.
accu-tig is about the cheapest on welding bolt handles.

Thanks for that info. I hadn't heard of Skaggs before and was trying to find a local smith to get work done at but haven't been having much luck.

Several years ago, I had M. Skaggs rethread a barrel and install it, and finish chamber my first Mauser rebuild before I had my own lathe.
He did a masterful job installing the barrel and timing the iron sights.
I do my own D&T for scope mounts and the metal finishing.

Good deal. I sent him an email asking about my specifics and it seems like he will most likely get my business.

Money wise, this is not going to be cheap. But, you will end up with a really nice rifle. I did about the same thing you're planning on doing with this Swedish Mauser. It became my favorite hunting gun.

Received and installed the trigger and safety today. Trigger is awesome, super easy to install and breaks cleanly and very lightly. Safety, on the other hand, not so much. It works, but the fitment isn't great and doesn't function smoothly. Definitely needs to get some love from a gunsmith to adjust it properly.
