Greetings,

I am looking for a book or video that teaches one how to silver solder sights to a shotgun barrel.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

As a general rule sights aren't silver soldered on shotgun barrels, but you may have a special application in mind. Anyway Brownells - a gunsmith supply company - has an extensive selection of solders and related items with full instructions. A hard-copy catalog is $5.00 and well worth the price.. Go to www.brownells.com

The normal bead shotgun sight is screwed in. The hole goes right through the barrel, as there is no significant pressure that far out. Any excess that sticks into the barrel is just filed off using a piece of masking tape to protect the barrel. The center bead on a rib is usually just a press fit, though they too can be of the screw in type if wanted.

I need to silver solder a front XS blade sight. These are aftermarket ghost ring sights.
