P. Edwin Compass, the superintendent of police. "No one will be able to be armed. Guns will be taken. Only law enforcement will be allowed to have guns."

"No one will be able to be armed," said Deputy Chief Warren Riley. "We are going to take all the weapons."

"It is surreal," said one member of the Oklahoma National Guard who was going door-to-door in New Orleans. "You never expect to do this in your own country."

Wow.

I didn't know they actually handcuffed people; All I had heard was they went door to door asking.

So how did the police know there were guns in the house? Did they raid gun dealers 4475's, or did they just illegally search?

IIRC the attack on the elderly women was what galvanised the NRA and assorted civil rights groups. She was safe and secure in her home, allowed in the police for an interview, and then slammed against a wall when she refused to hand over the pistol.

They said it can never happen here. My friends, it has started. :cuss:

Under the veil of public safety the rule of law will be set aside. I only hope the military will refuse to comply, as so many polls indicate.

We live in interesting times.

"El hombre que tiene armas tiene derechos. El hombre que no tiene armas tiene privilegios"

The man with arms has rights. The man without arms has privileges.
