I've had a Steyr S9-A1 for a little over a year now with a Viridian light/laser on it for my carry rig. I've put about 500-700 rounds through it, but only the usual stand shoot at paper.

Finally I got enough gear to take to to an IDPA match. I found a few issues that could be fixed with practice/training, but aren't an issue if I'm shooting my 1911 or borrowing a glock or some such.

The big issue is on the final target on the final stage last night it decided to go into burst fire and fired off about 3-4 rounds on the last trigger pull.

The gun has not been modified in any way, shape or form.

So I've decided I'll have Steyr fix it and then I'm probably going to trade it in and get something else. My current ideas are Glock 19, M&P 9C or CZ 75C/P-01.

I'd really like the CZ because I like having a metal frame, but not only is the aftermarket smaller (thought monumentally bigger than the Steyr's), I can't seem to find any P-01s in stock anywhere. I'd be ok with a 75C, but I've really gotten used to having a weapon mounted light and I'd very much like to be able to do the same with whatever I choose to get. The 75 isn't exactly set up for that.

The other two are a little more friendly for the seemingly new wave of holo optics for carry idea. I"m not 100% sold on that idea, but I am interested in it and would like the option later.

Hmmm one of the best idpa SSP pistol cz's is going to be the Cz sp-01 shadow but because of the size and weight its probably a little big for carry.

The pcr is just the opposite the alloy frame and profile makes it great for carry but you'll have increased muzzle flip and recoil.

You really can't make a bad choice with CZ. My carry gun is the same gun I plain on competing with and that's the Cz 75 shadow kind of a in between the sp-01 and pcr.

If you like CZ's, check out the 3rd Gen S&W's. (Not Shields, not M&P's)

Metal frame. CZ style slide safety & general look...but better ergonomics/grips.
Tactical versions have the rail you want...come in a wide variety of calibers and sizes...

Also, Star came out with some nasty evil CZ-based designs in the 80's that, IMHO, surpass.

I know, I'm a sicko, I like the classics ;)
