The guys I work with seem pretty darn sure that you need a class 3 FFL to buy a suppresor or full-auto gun.
Now you and I both know this isn't the case.
However, after an hour of searching, I cant seem to find anything definitive on the ATF's website dis-proving this. (I'd like a .gov source, if at all doable) The closest I've come is:
They are going to claim that a "registered owner" is one with an FFL.
Help!

May machineguns be transferred from one registered owner to another?
Yes. If the machinegun was lawfully registered and possessed before May 19, 1986, it may be transferred pursuant to an approved ATF Form 4.
