I dont know why but one of those Beretta 92 compacts caught my eye and i cant stop thinking about wanting to buy it. . Any body have any experience with one? Or should I wait for something I know I want?

thanks

I agree, if you have the funds, go for it. You will regret it later when its gone.

They're nice guns and hard to find. This new batch that showed up was quite a surprise and reasonably priced. I considered buying one just to have it, even though I'd never use it. Then I came to my senses and bought another 1911.;)

There are TWO 'different' Beretta 92 Compacts. The most common is the 92 Compact Type L, which is a 13-shot 9MM. The BEST compact, though, is the 92 Compact Type M, which uses an 8-shot single stack magazine. I carried one as an LEO for a while. It is THE ONLY Beretta handgun that I regret not keeping.

If you don't even know if you want it or not, don't buy it. Impulse buying a pistol you've never fired, especially for defensive use, can be a real mistake. If you're familiar with the gun and have fired it before, wanted one but never thought you'd find one, and suddenly encountered one, that's different. But if you don't know what the gun's shootability would be like in your hand, save your money until you do.
